Forge the body. Temper the spirit.
Renyuken Dojo
Renyuken Dojo blends Judo’s throw with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’s ground control into a single, connected system – for kids, teens, and adults in Concord, CA.
Adult Judo at Renyuken Dojo is designed for both beginners and experienced grapplers. You’ll learn the throws, footwork, and grip fighting techniques that make judo one of the most effective standing arts in the world. Each throw will then be followed up with ground techniques, connecting directly to the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) control positions taught throughout the dojo. Classes progress at a pace that acknowledges that adults are balancing work, family, and other commitments, allowing for serious training without the ego.
Kids Judo introduces young students to the same throws and principles taught in adult classes, but tailored to their age, attention span, and coordination. Instead of practicing techniques in isolation, children learn judo as it’s meant to be learned: through a game of balance, timing, and problem-solving against a partner. Throughout the process, they develop focus, respect, and physical confidence that extend well beyond the mat.
